NASHVILLE, TN (August 15, 2011) — Rodney Atkins is one of country music’s most reliable hit makers with his streak continuing with the fastest rising single of his career, “Take A Back Road,” currently sitting inside the Top 10 at country radio at fast-break speed positioning strong single sales ringing in over 350,000 at the pace of close to 40,000 a week.  TAKE A BACK ROAD is the Curb Records’ platinum selling act’s fourth album slated to hit the marketplace on Tuesday, October 4th
 
Atkins is spending most of his summer traversing the country on a non-stop touring schedule that kicked off in Nashville on June 7th.  He hosted and organized the first annual “Music City Gives Back” concert that closed down the streets of Lower Broadway benefitting the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund entertaining thousands of fans and raised much needed donations and awareness for the ongoing need for contributions to help victims of recent natural disasters. 
 
Atkins is currently working with Pillsbury’s Biscuitfest™ platform that will focus on promotional opportunities in over 30,000 outlets across the US coupled with Atkins’ fall tour culminating with a trip to the annual CMA Awards.
