FREE Music Festival Includes Live Performances, Once-In-A-Lifetime Jams & Intimate Guitar Workshops with World Class Guitar Legends

Nashville, Tenn. – July 21, 2011 – On August 12-14, 2011, Guitar Town Featuring John Jorgenson comes to Copper Mountain, CO. This is the seventh year for the FREE festival. As de facto creative director and festival favorite, Jorgenson has packed this year’s festival with an all-star lineup of world-class musicians and guitar legends. Because of his diverse background in folk and rock as well as his experiences at festivals around the world, Jorgenson was a natural fit to help procure this year’s participants.
“I love being part of this event,” said Jorgenson. “Over the years my involvement has continued to grow and when Bob Burwell, festival founder and organizer, asked me to help organize the jams and other programming for this year’s festival I was thrilled to do it!”
A Grammy Award Winner and Acoustic Guitar Magazine Gold Award Winner in the 2008 Acoustic Jazz category, Jorgenson (Elton John, Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison) will be performing once again with his pioneering American gypsy jazz band, John Jorgenson Quintet on August 13. On August 14 the John Jorgenson Electric Band will perform with special guest Albert Lee (Eric Clapton).
Guitar Town is the place to take in stunning live performances, witness mind-blowing once-in-a-lifetime day-ending guitar jams, and participate in rare, intimate morning workshops that allow fans and students of guitar the opportunity to connect with the artists on the Guitar Town lineup the same way they would have a private conversation with them in their own living room.
The 2011 Guitar Town Festival lineup features some of the globe’s very best guitar virtuosos in addition to Jorgenson (with Quintet & Electric Band). Lee Ritenour, Larry Carlton, Albert Lee, David Lindley, Doyle Dykes, Tony McManus, Carolyn Wonderland, Peppino D’Agostino, Bill Kirchen, Mark Selby Band and Scott Goldman are all slated to perform. The perennial-favorite workshops given by many of the artists appearing on the bill begin at 10 a.m. daily on August 13 and14 in Village Square, and live music begins on the Guitar Town Main Stage at Noon each day (an all-acoustic lineup is set for August 13 and an all-electric lineup for August 14).
