Interview with Garry Moore

Christian Lamitschka: Country Music has many new fans in Europe, who may be hearing about you for the first time. How would you describe yourself and the music you play to someone who’se never seen or heard you before.

Garry Moore: A lover of people who wants to bring love, life, joy and hope to the world through Music!

Christian Lamitschka: How was the last year for you? What were the highlights?

Garry Moore: Great live concerts!

Christian Lamitschka: What’s your latest CD and how’s it doing?

Garry Moore: Paradise and it’s doing well!

Christian Lamitschka: How did you choose the title for the CD, is there a story behind it?

Garry Moore: I wanted to give hope to all who struggle in this life, to assure them that after life on earth heaven will be much better in eternity with Jesus!

Christian Lamitschka: Do you write the songs yourself and if not, how do you go about finding the songs for the your CD?

Garry Moore: YES! All of my material is original. I have written over 400 songs!

Christian Lamitschka: Please tell us about the songs on your album.

Garry Moore: They are very inspirational to encourage and uplift the human spirit!

Christian Lamitschka: What’s the difference between your last CD and the current one?

Garry Moore: The songs are a little more worshipful this time, and a few less dance tracks than before!

Christian Lamitschka: Your current single is being played by radio. What do you thing is specail about this song that makes people what to hear it?

Garry Moore: It’s very uplifting and inspiring, gives one a sense of hope especially in times like these!

Christian Lamitschka: What will your next single be?

Garry Moore: Holy Ghost

Christian Lamitschka: What kind of songs do you like to record the most?

Garry Moore: Gospel Dance Song’s , Spiritual ballads and Instrumentals!

Christian Lamitschka: You did a duet with Ladrena. How did that happen to come about?

Garry Moore: Ladrena has recorded other duets with me and we blend together perfectly and we compliment each others vocal performance!

Christian Lamitschka: What’s your favorite song among all the songs you’ve recorded and what’s the story behind it? You’re Never Alone“

Garry Moore: THIS SONG WAS INSPIRED MAINLY BY MY YOUNGEST DAUGHTER “ANIVEA” DURING A TIME WHEN OUR FAMILY WAS TORN APART BY DIVORCE! ALL 3 OF THE CHILDREN WERE EFFECTED BY THE SUDDEN CHANGE, BUT IT TOTALLY CRUSHED AND DEVASTATED “ANIVEA” SHE WAS THE BABY, AND AT THE TENDER AGE OF 10 SHE COULD NOT UNDERSTAND WHY HER DADDY WAS LEAVING THE HOUSE FOR GOOD!! IT TURNED HER WHOLE WORLD UPSIDE DOWN AND INSIDE OUT! SHE CRIED UNCONTROLLABLY, CONSTANTLY CALLING MY NAME AS I WAS PACKING MY CLOTHES, UNTIL I WENT OF OUT THE DOOR. AND AS MUCH AS I TRIED TO HOLD BACK THE TEARS I WAS ALSO CRYING UNCONTROLLABLY… DURING THIS TIME MY KIDS WERE ALWAYS ON MY MIND. I COULD SEE THE EXTREME HURT, PAIN AND CONFUSION ON THEIR FACES EVERY TIME I SAW THEM, AND I KNOW THEY COULD SEE THE PAIN ON ME. I PAINED, BECAUSE THEY PAINED, BUT ANIVEA DIDN’T HANDLE IT AS WELL AS THE OTHERS, AND FROM THAT SEASON OF HURT, PAIN, DESPAIR, DEPRESSION, HOPELESSNESS, AND DISCOURAGEMENT THIS SONG WAS BIRTHED! ONLY GODS STRENGTH SUSTAINED US DURING THIS TIME. HE RE-ASSURED ME THAT I WAS NOT ALONE, NOR WERE MY CHILDREN… WE ALL LEARNED THAT THE PAIN THAT LIFE’S TRIALS BRING, WONT LAST FOREVER… YOU WILL GET PAST THE PAIN AND SUFFERING AS TIME GOES BY, AND YOU WILL BE ABLE TO TELL OTHERS THAT “YOU’RE NEVER ALONE, YOU’RE NOT ON YOUR OWN

Christian Lamitschka: How much creative control do you have over your music?

Garry Moore: All control!

Christian Lamitschka: There’s a lot of work that goes into a Number One hit … what did it take to make it in your case?

Garry Moore: Sencerity, Hard work, Dedication and Prayer… other than that there is no one remedy! You never know whether a song will go to #1. or not!

Christian Lamitschka: Do you have any interesting stories about how fans have been affected by your music?

Garry Moore: Yes! So many from around the world have commented on how songs have touched, changed, and impacted their lives tremendously!

Christian Lamitschka: Who do you look up musiccally and how deep do your musical roots run?

Garry Moore: ( Gospel )Andrae Crouch ( Secular ) Earth Wind & Fire

Christian Lamitschka: What do you think about today’s Country Music versus its roots and where do you see it going in the future

Garry Moore: So far, so good and has a bright future!

Christian Lamitschka: If you had the chance to change something about the music industry, what would it be?

Garry Moore: For independant artist to have the same opportunities and platforms as signed artist!

Christian Lamitschka: As an artist you have to do so many different things such as recording, touring, doing interviews etc. What do you like best, what’s your favorite activity?

Garry Moore: I love to write songs and record in the studio! The whole process of constructing a song that impacts the lives of people everywhere just blows me away! It’s the greatest honor to do this!

Christian Lamitschka: What inspired you to become an artist?

Garry Moore: When i saw the beatles for the first time on Ed Sullivan in the 60’s.

Christian Lamitschka: What inspired you to become a songwriter?

Garry Moore: It just happened, i have no explanation except that i wanted to be creative!

Christian Lamitschka: What drives you?

Garry Moore: THE MUSIC IN MY BLOODSTREAM! I’M CONSUMED BY IT!!!

Christian Lamitschka: What’s unique about you that differentiates you from other artists?

Garry Moore: I hope that i am unique in my own way, with my own style.

Christian Lamitschka: What has been your greatest challenge in music business?

Garry Moore: probably the promotional and marketing aspect of the businness!

Christian Lamitschka: What moments in your career stand out in your memory as highlights and achievements which you’re proud of?

Garry Moore: When 8 of my songs from the Paradise album went to number one on the soundclick Christian and Pop gospel charts!

Christian Lamitschka.: Who’s your biggest critic, yourself or others?

Garry Moore: Myself!!! definitely!

Christian Lamitschka: When you get time off, how do you like to relax?

Garry Moore: Spending time with family and watching NBA Basketball.

Christian Lamitschka: Is there anything in your life that you would change if you could?

Garry Moore: I would love to win a Grammy! Thats my greatst dream in music!

Christian Lamitschka: What has been the biggest disappointment in your life?

Garry Moore: Not dicovering my purpose sooner in my teen years, rather than in my 30’s

Christian Lamitschka: Is there anyplace you haven’t played that you would like to?

Garry Moore: The Apollo Theatre

Christian Lamitschka: What can your fans expect to see when they see you in concert?

Garry Moore: Power, Excitment, Excellence, Love, and Uplifted!

Christian Lamitschka: What’s the best compliment a fan has ever given you?

Garry Moore: How they were emotionally healed during a live performance of the song titled You’re Never Alone“ They said in that one moment, it changed their life forever!

Christian Lamitschka: What message would you like to send your European fans?

Garry Moore: Stay encouraged, and have faith in God to take them through life’s challenges!

Christian Lamitschka: Describe what a perfect day is like for you.

Garry Moore Praying and reading the bible in the morning to start off right. and being able to accomplish a lot within that day! ( practically, spiritually, and musically! )
