GURF MORLIX

• Instrumentalist of the Year •

Check out what folks are saying about Gurf Morlix’s latest release, Blaze Foley’s 113th Wet Dream:

“Morlix’s low gravelly laid-back growl is the perfect voice to interpret Blaze….late night listening for fans of Townes (Van Zandt)/Jon Dee Graham.” – NoDepression.com

“Once you hear these songs so lovingly performed by Gurf Morlix in his inimitable way you’ll know why Blaze Foley was considered a genius. This is one of the most poignant discs to cross this desk this year, and it is about time this artist got his due.” – AcousticMusic.com

“It has been a long time in the making but it has been worth every minute of the wait.” – Americana-UK

“…Foley’s legacy is in good hands.” – M Magazine

“Gurf Morlix puts himself inside these 15 songs as surely as if he’d been there when they were created. From the minimal backup to haunting vocals, Blaze Foley is alive again, there to rattle the funny bone and yank on your heartstrings. For someone who held himself together with duct tape, it’s amazing what an undeniable impact his music made.” – My Daily Find

“In a word….Genius.” Vicki Pepper, Altville

“Gurf is a legend in his own right, and to celebrate the music of  Blaze Foley, another legend, friend, and colorful character in this way is    amazing.”  John McGue, WNKU

“This album brings together two vastly underrated names in our kind of music.  Gurf Morlix does great justice to Blaze Foley’s songs, many of which should be as familiar as tunes by Van Zandt or Prine.” Scott Foley, KRFC

“Obviously a labor of love, Gurf Morlix has produced an album of beauty, humor, and great depth, and in doing so has single-handedly assured the legacy of the great Blaze Foley.” Wildman Steve, Wildmansteveradio.com

“The music is as unique as the name. Play something that stands out – play Gurf Morlix” Dave Herold, KTHX
