NASHVILLE, Tennessee (April 15, 2011) – Mountain Music Entertainment proudly announces special representation of multi-award winning bluegrass banjoist Mike Scott for his 2011 Saturday Night/Sunday Morning 2011 Tour.  Mike Scott, who Kyle Cantrell of SiriusXM Radio describes as “one of today’s great personalities in bluegrass,” has long been a part of the tradition of American acoustic music.  He has been on stage entertaining audiences since 1972 when he was only 10 years old and has since performed with Danny Davis & The Nashville Brass, led Mike Scott & The All-American Band, and helped define the tradition of Jim & Jesse and The Virginia Boys.  Since 2001, Mike has been a featured artist with frequent appearances on RFD’s Blue Highways TV show, Reno’s Old Time Music Festival as part of Ronnie Reno & The Reno Tradition. The 2011 Tour focuses on Scott’s latest Rural Rhythm albums BLUE MOON OF KENTUCKY and TAKE ME LORD AND USE ME.  One release centered on solid Bill Monroe instrumentals often heard during Saturday Night performances and the other focused on faith and spiritual messages of Sunday Mornings.

With 2011 being the year of the 100th anniversary of Monroe’s birth, musicians and bluegrass enthusiasts world-wide are honoring the legacy of the Father of Bluegrass Music through special events and recordings of his music. BLUE MOON OF KENTUCKY features top award-winning musicians including Mike Scott, Adam Steffey, Bryan Sutton, Tim Stafford, Rob Ickes, Aubrey Haynie, Mike Compton and Ben Isaacs performing some of Monroe’s finest compositions and favorite tunes in an instrumental setting. The album is currently charting on Sirius XM Radio Bluegrass Junction’s Top 40 Most Played Albums.
On the TAKE ME LORD AND USE ME release Mike was joined in the studio by his very special guests: Vince Gill, Ricky Skaggs, Rhonda Vincent, Claire Lynch, Sonya Isaacs, Carl Jackson, Jesse McReynolds, Buck White, and Shelton Feazell.  The album is currently in the top 10 on Christian Music Charts.

“I am very excited about the upcoming tour to promote the BLUE MOON OF KENTUCKY and TAKE ME LORD AND USE ME albums we recorded with Rural Rhythm Records. The  albums are very different though they have a great message, one about the Father of Bluegrass and the other about how I approach my every day life by putting it in the hands of a higher power” said Scott. “I am really looking forward to performing and Mountain Music Entertainment’s help in packaging the shows for those that want to have us perform in their area. This will be a great way to see friends old and new as we travel this year.”

The tour is designed as two day stop in each city it will visit. On Saturday Night Scott will focus his music on the BLUE MOON OF KENTUCKY album and on the Sunday Morning shows the music will feature TAKE ME LORD AND USE ME.   The shows will be held in different venues. The Sunday shows will be geared to churches and assemblies of faith where as the Saturday evening events will be held typically in music venues and settings that feature live acoustic music.  If a venue or church is interested in more information about hosting the tour they are encouraged to contact Mountain Music Entertainment either by phone at 877-746-5165 or on the internet through www.mountainmusicentertainment.com .
